"Elizabeth" Lying Telemarketer - claims to represent Verizon - trying to get me to switch long-distance carriers

Received a telemarketing call from American Phone Services ("Elizabeth") who claimed that APS had coordinated with Verizon (my long-distance provider) to offer single-billing because in the future my bills would be sent separately. I'm aware of a practice called "slamming" - changing a person's long-distance providers without permission - so I called Verizon and they confirmed my suspicions that APS was not affiliated.
Before calling Verizon, I tried to contact the APS # that Elizabeth had provided (1-800-711-1323) and was completely dissatisfied. I was suspicious of the person who responded when he asked for my name and phone number rather than honor my request to speak with a supervisor.
