Dishonest sales calls and unauthorized charges to credit cards ripoff

I had ordered a gift from Time & Life at Christmas 2004 for my elderly father.in 07, Time & Life made sales call to my father. My father did not authorize any purchase, however debit to my cerdit card was made and an order is due to ship out. They refuse to cancel. How can an order be place be someone other than the card holder? It is a single person card holder account
