Ripoff, Stolen deposit, No Show, Convicted, Fraud, Scumbag

Bill Scanlon of Scanlon Roofing & Construction was contracted to renovate my house in early 2003. I gave him a $3000.00 deposit. Mr. Scanlon never showed up to do the job.

I later learned, acording to newspaper reports, that Mr. Scanlon had been convicted of passing bad checks and was ordered to pay restitution to his victim and perform community service in the Sussex County SLAP program.

This explains why he did not show up to do the job and why he could not refund my deposit.

I filed suit in Sussex County small claims court and won a judgement for $3000.00 plus costs.

To this day Mr. Scanlon claims that he does not have the money to settle this.

I am also aware of at least two people Mr. Scanlon has ripped off and will encourage them to report him on this web site.
