Ripoff

Approx. 1 week ago'lightning struck my cable box and TV. There was so much damage to the TY, that I bought a new one. Then I could get NO cable channels, and one local channel was very "blurrey". I called my cable company—Charter. 4 days later a "tech" comes out, says my cable was "blown" and would have to be replaced. (Charter did not charge me for cable service when I wasn't getting it) THE "TECH" ALSO TOLD ME THAT ANOther "tech" would be out to bury the cable in 36-72 hours.

While this 'tech' was getting his things together, I attempted to turn on the TV to channel 29 (TGTV) NOTHING!!!

I went out to the truck and questioned the 'tech' about it. He said that by the way, I wasn't paying for "expanded basic" so he had disconnected it. Now I was getting only "basic". I have been living in this home for 8 years and have payed bills that were sent to me. How was I supposed to know I was only entitled to "basic" and would the "tech" have told me what he'd done if I hadn't questioned him??? The "tech" told me there was also some other trouble in the line, and another 'tech' would be out in sereral days to see if he could figure it out. Tje 'tech' told me if I wanted "expanded basic" to call the company, and tell them that the "tech" had turned off "expanded" & get "expanded basic" restored.
I called Charter & requested "expanded basic" which is an additional $21.25 per month, plus they said I would be charged another $20.00 for "expanded basic" service to be connected!!! This is outrageous, since the 'tech' had just disconnected it! Since no cable is working anyway, I will call them back when it is working, until then will call them EVERY DAY my cable is not working!!!
