Ripoff - supposed late receipt of pmt

Sent payment in on Monday with three other bills going to the Carol Stream, IL processing group. Received next month statement and payment was due on Friday - per my statement payment was processed on Saturday and I was charged $29.00 late fee! I contacted the group and the not so nice lady said I should have sent it 7 business days to get there in time and if it was due Friday I should have sent it the Friday before.

Strangely, the other two payments that went to the same processing group and were mailed at the same time as the Menards card full payment were all received on Friday and I did not get any late fee charges. I wonder if someone at their processing place just didn't open the mail on Friday or had Friday off. Never-the-less - the nasty processing group would not remove the $29.00 charge and we have spent over $40,000 over the past two years during our building project! We avoid Menards if we can possible do so considering this event.
