Ripoff! Scam, fraud, goods held hostage

I used Sea & Air cargo for a move from Santa Clara, CA to Melbourne, Australia. It was a NIGHTMARE of an experience. After months and months of waiting, complaining to FMC, sending a Llyod's agent to get my paperwork etc I finally managed to get my goods. But it was a long and extremely hard road.

There are several complaints about this company with the FMC. They are not FMC registered although their claimed to be. I must say that the folks at FMC were very very helpful in my case. They contacted Sea & Air (and APX the frieght forwarder) many times on my behalf to get a resolution. Trust me, if it hasn't been for their help and support I don't think I would've seen my goods.

My credit card was billed extra without my authorization. My goods were held hostage by Sea & Air and they were demanding astronomical amounts for excess volume. The receiving company in Melbourne helped me measure the cargo and it I have written proof that it could've been accomodated in a 20 ft container but after the goods were picked up, Sea & Air tried to charge me more than double the initial quote claiming that I exceeded my allocated volume etc.

If anyone wants more info let me know. Do not trust this company! They are operating illegally. Their objective is to rip people off. We need to stop Idan and Irish Ohana from operating. Let's get the word around so people don't fall prey.

And, If you think APX is a very responsible organization, please think again. I contacted them to pay them directly and explained the issue I was having with Sea & Air, but they would not help me and asked me to talk to Idan Ohana as he was their "customer".

I certainly don't want anyone to go through what I went through for 4 months without my cargo and dealing with these criminals.
