No flood insurance $ from

It's been 6 months since Hurricane Floyd hit New Jersey. My house was under water, and I'm still fighting with USAA Insurance of San Antonio, Texas, about what is covered under my flood insurance. (I haven't received a penny for the structure of the dwelling that was damaged.)

With about 1 foot of water in the house, they will include some doors, but not others (claiming that they open and close). There were toxins in the flood waters!

They won't include my front or back entrances because they "saw no debris" when they RE-inspected the house 5 months later. Duh, boys! Would you live for 5 months with crud on your steps??!

I could go on, but what bothers me is that I'm just a little homeowner, and I've caught some omissions and errors already. But this is my first house, and my first flood. I'm not an expert, so I have no idea what else should be included, and if the pricing is correct.

All winter long, all I could do to correct the damage to my home is to spray the floors and walls once a week with straight bleach to keep mold and mildew from growing. (And I have animals who have been getting sick to boot. Not to mention strange rashes on myself.)

I need help. I'm being ripped off, I'm sure, but don't know how to battle the big-bad-insurance company.
