On September my wife and I were dontacted repeatedly by REM to get us to use their company to rent our timeshare in Orlando, FL. Since we had just started thinking of renting out our property, and we did not know of such companies at the time, we thought it was a good idea. They charged us $685, saying that not only would they list our property on their website, that they would use print, E-Mail advertising, web sites, direct corporate contact, trade show and convention vendor and non-vendor participants, USPS, and that they were a preferred emmber of Orlando Convention Center and Visitor Center. 3 months pass, and nothing. I called them, and they said, "Oh, your listing is only for 90 days, and you have to keep calling us to have it relisted every 90 days." 2 mor months go by, nothing. I send e-mails asking to send me copies of these so called print, e-mail, and direct corporate advertising that they are supposedly marketing our property. I got a call from some snotty guy there saying that they are doing these things, but they cannot prove it. So, nothing is getting done. They over charge our property on the website, and as far as I know, that is all that they do; have customers pay $685, and put their property on their website! Hell, I could do that! So, if they do not get our property rented within 180 days, we get 2 airline vouchers. Big deal. I read somewhere else that these vouchers can only be used if you rent a $200 hotel foom for 7 days.

I already reported REM to the Florida Attorney General. I will wait and see what will happen.
