Target
Customer Service (As trained by company procedures) - Memo

Shops, Products, Services

I was totally shocked regarding the comments that were send out on the memo referring to Hispanics in such a racial profile manner. We are from a well educated family that has succeed in our futures due to the hard work, persistence, and above all the consistence of earning a living with our American dream as a vision and as a possibility of obtaining success due to our hard work. When I read the comments regarding the training that is done at Target I was immediately reminding of my ancestors whom had work so hard, at times having two to three jobs at one give time to ensure that we had an opportunity to improve our living standards and not having to endure what they went through. To have a company such as Target insinuate that that they and/or we wore sombreros and call us taco eating people is very offensive and down right racial profiling. I can assure you that the $200 or plus that I spend at your stores weekly will no longer continue. Furthermore, our other family member chose not to shop Target and longer due to such insulting comments. As the fasting growing population in the United States, I would strong suggest that all Hispanic Target customers look back at their ancestors and honestly questions themselves if this type of racial comments would sit well with them. I know that my parents, their parents, etc. Were proud people and this is why I chose to stand up not only for myself but for them and say no more to Target. We, as a group, can send a very strong clear message to Target and anyone other retailer that we will NOT allow such comments to go unnoticed. Below are the disgusting contents of the memo:

U201COrganizational Effectiveness: Employee and Labor Relations Multi-Cultural Tips, %u201D is a real attention-getter and listed as Exhibit 2 in the lawsuit. Among the tips about Hispanics for Target managers to consider are: %u201CFood: not everyone eats tacos and burritos%u201D and %u201CMusic: not everyone dances to salsa.%u201D It goes on and on. %u201CNot all Hispanic groups are alike and not all Hispanic groups get along, %u201D the memo says and then helpfully stereotypes the groups: %u201CCubans (political refugees, legal status, higher educational levels) %u2026 Mexicans (lower educational level, some may be undocumented.)%u201D
