Overall Customer Service In America. Kmart, Walmart, Target, All Businesses the problem with america

Attention all customer service people.

This is directed at the foul state of dis-array of our countries customer service professions. Look around here for "Kmart", "Target" or Walmart and alot more to see that customer service sucks on this forum. We must understand that this whole profession hinges on the customer. What other reason are these businesses doing business? Alot of your jobs hinge on the customers money. You aptly hide behind your policies to say the customer isn't always right. Well, do you realize when you piss one of us off, we will tell our friends of this and they'll tell their friends? One customer can do considerable damage to the rep of a business. So yes, being a truly business minded person, a manager who mistreats let alone allows for their employees to mistreat customers, is in for a crash landing when jobs are lost? We don't need you... We can drive elsewhere to get what we want. Hell, why drive anywhere and order online? Alot of clearing houses and wharehouses are alot cheaper than going to your local kmart etc these days. Plus these stores sell with a markup to cover tranportation costs. I worked for AAFES (www.AAFES.com) and we had to mark up stuff much more than at the commissary to cover the trucking costs. I've been in customer service for 22 years, so I've been there and done that. I know what customer service is.

On that same subject, I hardly ever can get a live human on the phone when I dial a companies service number for support or technical support/help. If I buy a product from company "X" and I get crappy service, I'd quickly report about it here. I've done that and informed these companies about usacomplaints.com in the past. Why do you think you can treat customers like crap? Most companies give you some simple training upon hiring you, then someday, you get mad and take it out on us. Where I work, I stop what I'm doing and go in the back to cool off before I do something I'll regret. But hey it's my job. I don't have to like it, but I have 2 kids and a wife to take care of along with a mortgage.

Those people whom you criticize, are people who work hard for their money, if it's a gift, then their families too. Look at yourselves, as you give us crap. If your grandma or mom and dad came into your store tomorrow, would you treat them as you do us? Treat each customer as you would a best friend or family. So what if a customer is pissed off? He/she buys a product as advertised for a loved one and it doesn't work. That's an inconvenience! That'll ruin a birthday party mood quick. Also we come back to you to get a new exchange and all we get is lip. Why? If you want to get great repeat customers, like the saying goes, you can attract more bees with honey than vinegar.

But anyway, it's your job and earning a living on the line anyway, just take it from a guy who's had some hard knocks in customer service. Policies are guidelines people. Not laws, so they can be worked around for all to be happy.
