Charged $500 ripoff charges from Optical Telephone Corporation

My husband noticed that our automatic payment to SBC was $570 this month. We have automatic billing and I had not checked the billing statement. When I looked at the statement, I was horrified to find $506 of ILD charges to various numbers all at: 08 or: 09 after the hour, many of them four at a time at the same time.

When I called ILD's toll-free number I got the same run around that it would take 30 to 90 days to get a credit. They said the hurricane was responsible for the problem and that ILD was going bankrupt.

Now I'm worried that I'll never get the $500 back and wouldn't be suprised to see the same thing happening this month. I never ordered a service with Optical Telephone corporation and had never heard of ILD before this. I don't know what to do.
