BestRebateBuy.com Multiple Unauthorized Debits for Months After Placing Orde

Shops, Products, Services

To date, this company, NuvaLife.com, which purportedly sells natural foods and supplements, and its associate, BestRebateBuy.com, have made multiple unauthorized debit charges of $9.95 each for several months.

On October 8, I placed an order at NuvaLife.com for five bottles of Twinlab Pancreatin and one bag of chia seeds. On October 14, I received an email from NuvaLife.com stating that the Twinlab Pancreatin was not available and I would not be charged for it. I contacted NuvaLife telling them to cancel the order. I then ordered the Pancreatin from Vitacost.com and figured on buying chia in bulk at a local store. Several days later, I received a huge box with just a bag of chia seeds inside, which was a surprise. As of October 15th, I noted two transactions made by Nuvalife.com: one for $1.00, and another for $9.95. Seemed strange, but I figured it was for the chia seeds plus shipping and handling. I thought that was the end of it.

Flash forward 3 months and I've noted six transactions of $9.95 each from both NuvaLife and BestRebateBuy.com. There is also a single transaction of $1.00, charged by Nuvalife.com. These appeared on my bank statements as BBV. Nuvalife.com and BBV. BestRebateBuy.com. Obviously they were related somehow.

On January 8, I called Nuvalife at 1-888-589-7780 and demanded full refunds of the unauthorized transactions. They told me they could "refund two months as a courtesy, " and went on to tell me I'd signed up for two memberships, one with NuvaLife and one with BestRebateBuy.com when all I had done was placed a single small order months before with no intention of ever doing so again given the strange unavailability of a widely-available supplement. I had never authorized any memberships or further transactions, and it appears my "order" was used as a way to obtain my bank and contact information to rip me off.

I was then told they'd "cancel my memberships" and was given two cancellation numbers, even though I'd told them several times I'd never even signed up for any memberships. They said they'd refund $38.90 to my account (the total they'd taken: $60.70, not bad for doing next to nothing).

On January 9, I noticed yet another debit of $9.95 from BBV. BestRebateBuy.com, even after the cancellation numbers I'd been given. I called Nuvalife back and very sternly demanded a full refund. The guy on the other end wanted me to allow him to "explain how the memberships worked" when I'd never even joined and had gotten two cancellation codes the day before! I told him that all I did was place an order that the company could not deliver in full, and because of that I'd not planned on doing any more business with them. I demanded once again they refund my account in full, to stop ripping me off, and that I'd report him and his company. The result? He hung up on me.

To date (January 9), I've noted three emails from "Best Brand Values" supposedly confirming refunds of $9.95 each. I've yet to see these refunds in my bank account, but I will see to it that all the unauthorized transactions are refunded.

Something shady is going on in Florida, so please beware of NuvaLife.com, BestRebateBuy.com and Best Brand Values. I will be having an attorney contact them with a letter asking for a full refund, and I will be in touch with my bank regarding these unauthorized transactions.
