John Casablanca
Agent Mark lied

Recreation & Entertainment

John Casablanca is a big rip off! When we first went to audition, the agents acted very nice and confident. Everyone seemed down to earth and all well around people. The audition process was very sketchy. They had you walk on stage in a model like way to music on a cheap radio they had in the room. The runway looked like they built it out of spare wood and the room was very cheaply done. After the actual auditions were done it was time for the choosing. They put us all in groups and took us to different rooms in the complex. What the agents did was very strange; they called people one by one up, maybe two people to the most. They said not exactly this but similar "Congradulations! Welcome to the team we will be calling you soon" and they would hand them the packets. There were only two people they did that to. So, after that our agent shut the door and said "Congratualtions! You guys made the cut!" I found it strange how he lied to those other two people, and boosted their hopes up only for a soon to come let down. Anyways after that he called the people who made the cut to his office one at a time to sign them. When I went in there to get signed I noticed tha he was sweating a lot and acting nervous at some points as he was going through the process. He also tend to say something to make you feel as if you were going to get famous in the next month. Something to that effect. He said that I was going to be famous within the first few classes I took and that not many people get excepted into this, and that this is a one and a life time chance to audition. I got really excited and confident because at the time it sounded legit. Next week when I came back to start my courses everything was completely different. Our agent that we had acted kid of sketchy he didnt say hi or anything just looked at us in a "all I want is your money" type way. And before he said not many people get in and you can't audition more than once. Well, the next week I saw the same people that auditioned last week back in there again. He lied to us. The classes were supposed to be taught by profesionals, but some instrucors looked either not professional or look like they just got out of college. A lot of instructors claimed they worked with famous people. Although the instructors were nice they still seemed kind of sketchy. Also the location was not even in the city it was in the very back of a dead business complex. Not very professional. Also as we were getting signed he started to explain the rates of the classes. Which were outrageous ranging in the thousands! He stated that this was very cheap compared to other big companies around. He started explaining the consequinces on missing classes and how you can make it up, but when I started missing classes all he did was give us a rate to pay him back with. So that goes to show they don't really care about you missing classes just about the money. These classes are huge are a rip off! They cover some fundamentals, but the classes were really just contained of immature kids and adults that really had no potential. Another thing, people were paying all that money and wasting there time for a negative outcome They promised that after you completed all the classes you would be signed to this agency called MTM which I've never heard of and I asked my new agency TOUT Talent if they heard of it and they responed "never". Also real agents don't make you pay to join them. It's supposed to be talent gets90%wages and agent get 10%. John Casablanca wanted 100% everything drying you clean out of money that you worked hard for! It's just not worth it, and I hate to see people still waste their time joining those stupid, outrageously priced, unprofessional classes that will get you NOWHERE! After a few weeks of those bogus classes I pulled out because we couldn't afford renting cars every otherweek to drive from charleston sc to charlotte nc every other week for no real reason. I then joined an agnecy called tout talent which gave me a reasonable deal and I joined them and I had my first commercial the very next day for a car dealership. Tout has really opened more doors for my career I've been casted in shows such as Army Wives and featured in loca short films and plays. For anyone looking for an agency to turn to whatever you do don't turn to John Casablanca.
