Fraud, scam, doesn't pay its models

My daughter spent a very long, hot day last July being photographed for a national campaign. She was 15 and we were excited about the prospect of her earning funds for college.

However, during the fall my repeated calls to Model Team were met with vague responses that the owner was "looking into" why she never was paid. It turns out that he had cashed the check in October and never issued her payment!

Their deceit came to light when we received a form listing my daughter's earnings when doing her taxes. New York agencies have stopped sending work to Model Team, and the owner now recalls cashing the check but "cannot find" the money. "Everything vanished when Wachovia became Wells Fargo, " he told me. Really???
