Sparkles Roller Rink
Skating rink turning into Dance club horrible music

I have been taking my family to Sparkles roller rink in Lawrenceville GA for some time. They provide family fun and a great atmosphere untill now.in one short week this place had totally gone down hill! Just last night, Friday Nov. 6th me and my family went as usuall and it was horrible! Remember, this is a family skating rink right? If anyone reading this has ever went skating, you know you have skate style music. Now this can be anything from "Gary Glitter" to "Girl on Fire" right? So anyway, this rink usually provides a wide variety of music from all era's and a few "cliub" style request and slow songs thrown in to make everyone happy. Well, last night the New DJ only played "club" style music and you could NOT skate to any of it! Then he had dancing in the middle of the floor and you could not skate due to the people walking accross the floor!
So me and over 20 people that go there all the time requested a few songs that we could actually skate to. Did he play them? H*ll no! He even told one guy that I believe works there part time that he didn't care if we all sat in the floor kicking and screaming, he was playing what he wanted if we liked it or not! I am currently looking for a new rink as well as 43 others. I did a mass e-mail when I got home and so far 43 skaters are NOT going back. This is a start and I am sure alot of others are also looking elsewhere. This rink had well over 150 people at 9 pm and by 11 there was maybe 50. The last hour the floor was empty. So I wasted over $40 going to a place that we love and me and my family went home very dissapointed. The new DJ is going to ruin a once awsome roller rink! It's just sad that people that actually skate and love sparkles are being ran away by the DJ and music. I believe that the skaters should be able to hear what that want. Afterall, if there are no skaters how will they keep their doors open? We pay money to skate, not to argue with a closed minded DJ that only cares about what HE wants to hear.
