Tru Talent Managment
They are a scam

I have read report after report about Tru Talent Managment being a scam. I would like to add my experience to that.

My daughter and I were stopped at a store by one of their scouts. I have never really thought about putting my three year old in the business but she is adorable and talks very well. So I decided to go in and listen to what they had to say. Everything seemed great. They have a great sales pitch about how they are the number one talent angency in Utah. But they fail to give you any examples of people who have had success because of them. They said things like, " I wanna get her started right away. She is adorable. I know I can get her alot of work."

My husband and I decided to sign her up to see how she would do. Thats when they drop the, "Oh, it's going to be a thousand dollars for a photo shoot. For her portfolio. I asked if my friend who is an amazing artistic photographer could do it. But he was very adamit that for it to be good they would have to have one of their photographers do it. Sadly my husband and I still decided to go forward with it. When it came time to sign the contract everything was about the photos and having buy a certain amount of copy rights. There was not one thing about how much they would take from the jobs she had.in fact there was nothing about jobs anywhere in the contract. It was all about paying for pictures and classes If she were older she would be required tp take.

I went home and did some research on the internet, because it just wasnt sitting well with me. And I found out that they only make their money from the photos and getting you to buy the rights to them at $40 a picture and their classes (which my daughter didnt have to sign up for because she is so young, thankfully.) I dont know alot about the business but I have learned this a legit place will not ask you for money upfront, they dont make money until you make money. There are other agencies in Utah that are legit, I would do research and go with one of them not Tru Talent.
