Unsafe equipment, shoddy maintenance, bad customer service

I was spending a day at this so-called "family amusement center" when my little girl was playing on a skee-ball-type game. The glass panel sitting upright became unhinged and suddely slammed onto the lower one. Being the responsible parent, of course, she was supervised by me, and I saw the whole thing occur. After calming my daughter and wife down, I immediately summonned the first employee I got my hands on and insisted that I speak to whomever was in charge of maintenance. That guy blew me off and had some short guy approached me, who said he owned the business. So, treating him like the owner, I calmly pointed out his machine and what happenned, and asked for an explanation. He then tried to buy me off with some exttra tokens. I flatly refused his offer and insisted that he aplogize and take responsibility for his machine. The guy responded by raising his voice and threatening to call the police if I didn't leave. I didn't want things to boil over, so I asked him one more time to discuss the matter reasonably, this time outside or at least somewhere away from where we were (he wouldn't be worried about his business, and I wouldn't have others be amped up about my daughter). He decides to have a policeman escort us out instead.

Look, if you have small children, you would expect any establishment that caters to kids to be safe, clean, and have well-maintained equipment. This one did not. If you are a customer that likes to be treated with respect, you would want the proprieter to address your concerns promptly and not blow you off by offering worthless trinkets. This one did not. FuFunFun is an establishment that does not care about children or their safety; they operate machines that are unsafe and unserviced. Thank God my child wasnn't hurt, but that does not and will not absolve this business or its owners from their responsibility to acknowledge their faults anf correct their problems.

This business is being reported to several other entities in addition to the consumer complaints, including the attorney general's office and the JAG office at FT Bragg. I strongly suggest that you take your family and your money somewhere else. Next time, it could be YOUR child, and she could end up in far worse shape than mine.

Even if you don't agree with this post, let me leave you with this: Your children's well-being and safety come first. Always. Don't let some cheapskates punk you out of doing and acting on what's best for your kids. You don't have to be a jerk about it, but HOLD THESE PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE for their actions. Don't let them put you down either. Stand up for yourself. Use any and all avenues you have to get what you deserve. Even if all you accomplish is getting their attention, that's still far greater than doing nothing. If people try to screw with you, FIGHT BACK!!! Your kids will love you for it.
