Let The Good Times Roll ripoff, The worst, stay away

My girlfriend and I paid a 200.00 deposit for a party bus for her daughters' 24th birthday. We were told we would be contacted 24 hrs prior to the pickup. At noon on the day of, we realized we had not recieved a confirmation call. I called the first number I had for the company and it was out of service. I tried the 2nd and that too was not working. I tried the 3rd and I got a man from the company. I inquired about my pick up time but he seemed surprised that I had a pickup scheduled for that night. He said to call him back in a while. I did a half an hour later and he told me that they had lost 3 buses to Katrina, however I only gave him the deposit 5 days prior to this and it was weeks after Katrina. I sensed something was amiss and he told me he would call me back. Of course he never called back so giving him an hour I called back. He told me that he was arranging a bus and assured me that the bus would arrive as scheduled at 9:00pm. He then asked me to call back at 5:00. When I called at 5:00 he told me to call him in 15 minutes. At this point I said to him that if he didn't have a bus please let us know now so we could make other arrangement because the bus was the birthday gift. At 5:15 when I called him he assured us that the bus would arrive at 9:00pm. We then went out and purchased all the snacks, beer and drinks for the 24 guest. We also got 24 balloons and various decorations to the tune of 300.00.
At 9:00 the bus had not yet arrived. I gave an extra 10 minutes before placing a call to the service. The man said that he would call me back. Of course he didn't, so I called back and he gave me anothe number to call. This was the number that was out of service earlier, however Sabrina Harrington answered.By this time it was 9:30. She said that they fueled the bus and that there was a blockage in the fuel line and that they had a mechanic working on it and that they would be there in 45 minutes. The bus was in Largo at that point and needed to come to Tarpon Springs and was not even running at the time. Knowing that we had been jerked around all day, and 2 of the 6 hours was shot already, we decided that this wasn't going to happen. She agreed to refund the deposit. I contacted the company on Monday and they said they were putting a refund check for the deposit in the mail that day. I called on Thursday asking to speak with Sabrina to arrange to pick up the cash but she never returned the call. So, just like the bus, the check never showed up by Friday. I called and asked to speak to Sabrina. The same guy said she won't be in until 5:00. I called at 5:30 and he said she won't be in until 7:00. Obviously the same run around. I called Saturday and Told the man I still didn't recieve the check and I want to meet up with Sabrina and get our cash back. I told him if he did send a check he would have to stop payment on it, which would in my opinion be a small imposition for him compared to what we were out. He promptly hung up on me. I called back and left a message immediately after that stating that I didn't appreciate the hang up and told him we could do this the easy way or the hard way, for him to decide and call me back. It has been several weeks and we have not had a return call or a check.
