Questionable business practices, Ripoff

I too have had what I would term as a negative experience with being an unsuspecting "member" of Entertainment Rewards. I believe I was recruited through the Ticketmaster scenario.

After reading the rebuttals from our friend in PA, I can say that he is quite adept at the role of "spin doctor" for his company. His rationale is rather flawed, but so is his company.

If this offer were made more "out front" and with a little less "stealth", I might buy his excuses for how so many folks get signed up for something they really didn't want. But I don't buy it for a minute. This Entertainment Rewards thing is cleverly placed to be easily overlooked.

They pay the folks in marketing a good deal of scratch (for which our "memberships" pay for no doubt) to find ways to make more money and they will always find nifty ways to fool someone out of some cash. Sure, it's probably not illegal. Is it totally kosher? Heck no.

I made sure that these folks can no longer charge my CC. I look at it as yet another lesson learned ($196.00 to be exact) on doing business on the web. Will I ever patronize Ticketmaster again? No.

Will I get burned by tricky ad placements, probably. After all, they pay folks to figure out how to separate us from our hard earned dough.

PS. The only thing our rebuttal buddy said that made sense was to not lose your cool when trying to solve this problem. No one reacts well to being yelled at.
