Hired by Department of Environmental Protection State of Florida 07/95 at Fort Zachary Taylor
State Historic Site as Park Ranger. They accommodated, my back disability, not requiring me to lift 50 lbs for 5 yrs. Then injured on job, reported to supervisor, and was not offered medical treatment so I used my insurance. Was heavily medicated for pain at the time and could not drive to work while taking medication. Then had to have Surgery on neck from on the job injury.

Was disabled even more now, so they promoted me to Assistant Manger at Bahia Honda State Park and worked 2 more yrs for them as Assistant Manager but continued to have medical problems with neck.

My Manager told me that I was going to the doctor too much and was told that I would be demoted. They then demoted me back to Park ranger at new park. I informed new Mgt. Of my Physical limitations and they refused to accommodate my disability, and then terminated me because they said I could not lift 50 lbs. I had an Outstanding record with DEP, long list of awards, special recognition rewards ect, Yet a disabled park ranger is being accommodated even now and is willing to come forward and testify to this fact.

Dep denies that I informed them of any on the job injury or notified them of any disability but recently found original documents of when hired that disputes that. Yet I am without my Career now, was building new home and lost all. On the verge of now being Homeless.
