Unfair to people already suffering

I like many people right now am unemployed and trying to get unemployment benefits to live while I am searching for a job. I applied for unemployment the early part of January of this year and am still fighting to get the help I need. My claim was denied and I am now in appeals. It is bad enough to be unemployed and trying desperately to find a job but when you are trying to keep a roof over your head and food in the refridgerator it is awful to have to be told you have to wait for several weeks or even months before you may get any help. I am being told it can take up to 8 weeks before I get an appeal date with the court. I understand they are probably overwhelmed with so many people unemployed but when you need help now that 8 weeks seems like a life time. This company needs to do something to get people taken care of in a more time sensitive manner. Sombody please help. I am sure I am not the only one fed up with this.
