High gas prices

Where and when is the price of gas going to end? I didn't get a raise in my salery to cover this expense - cost of living. We elected officials in the government to represent us - they aren't. Is it because of their own interest in making money from us the consumers - why isn't the government helping the people? Are they guilty of something? Who's making all the money from this? The oil companies and who else? Not me
