Sold our loan out under us after we abbided to there terms

Mortgage IT placed a call to our home asking if we wanted to refinance our loan to lower our mortgage. We said sure what do we need to do. They stated to take the 40,000 in our savings and pay off both cars and that they would eat our second and we would have one mortgage at 6%. So we did just that. Paid off both cars, which left 18.00 in savings. Mortgage IT said okay good job now the papaer work will be sent to you on Monday and the deal will be done. Well the only thing that was sent to us on Monday was, "sorry your loan was sold and there is nothing we can do."

Now we are sitting here with no savings to compensate for our 3300.00 a month mortgage, a lease on a car paid off and a 3% car loan paid off. We were so taking advantage of and now are heading towards forclosure.

Is this fair? Can they get away with promising us one thing then dropping the ball at the end?
