Unlawful charges to furniture/condition of apartment

Do not move to this apartment complex if you are planning to move to Bloomington, IN or are currently living their. They claim to cater towards students with their free tanning bed, work out equipment, bus routes, etc.

Be forewarned. Bradford Place ripped me off twice with unnecessary charges. I moved apartments twice. First, we had a furnished apartment and the day we moved in there was no furniture, therefore delaying our move in date.

For the first apartment I was charged over $200 for a matress that was broken when I got there. (I have the move in report.) I was also charged $10 for not cleaning the fan, $25 for not cleaning the toliet, and $35 for not cleaning the bathtub. I cleaned all three things and have the pictures as proof. I also never recieved a move-out form of what to do when moving out. I called Bradford Place, emailed them, and went to the office on the occasion of 5 times to speak with the manager about the charges. 2 days before I was supposed to pay the charges I met with them with a lawyer and all charges were dropped.

The second apartment I was charged over $200 in charges as well. The stained coffee table and broken dresser drawer are also in the move-in report as being broken and stained when I got there. I was refused a move out inspection as well. When I finally got a hold of the manager (after a week of emails and phone calls) I asked if I could make payments instead of paying everything at once and he told me that I could not make payments, it all had to be at once.

With this apartment complex they will find everything wrong when you move out and their management is impossible to deal with. It's also extremely expensive — $1200 for a three bedroom apartment. You will get ripped off!
