AHA, AMERICAN HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION Charged my checking account without my knowledge

Charged my checking account for a certain amount of money and would charge it every month.
When I called the service rep informed me I would be charged so much a month for their services. I do not recall any transactions like this. I keep a close check on my checking account.
I do not recall giving any company by that name permission. It isn't the money because so far it is a trivial amount, it is the idea that this can be done to anyone.
