Supermodels Unlimited Magazine
Scam

Newspapers & Magazines

In February my daughter who was 10 at the time was invited to do a shoot with Supermodels Magazine. We were promised by Kim Lawrence that we would be shooting at an old mansion in NYC. We would have a special Most Beautiful section in the upcoming magazine of just our kids.

The shoot was suppose to be all inclusive but were required to pay additional for hair and make up of $200.00. We had out of pocket expenses to fly to NYC and then our hotel stay also. When we arrived for the shoot there was no mansion as promised. We shot in the basement of a hotel. The hair and make up artist and the Photographer were not Supermodels employees yet someone they found to do contract work. Both have since said they were never paid by Supermodels.

I flew my daughter out to NYC some 2000 miles away from home to shoot in an old NYC mansion as promised by SU magazine only to find ourselves in the basement of a hotel in an old conference room set up with a make shift studio with poor lighting. When we contacted Kim to complain she used abusive language and was extremely rude and unprofessional. After I got angry right back at her she backed down and promised me another shoot for my daughter but that never happened.

The photos were obtained only from the photographer not from Supermodels magazine as a good will gesture on his part because he also was also part of the scam and not paid. He was out the money for the conference room that SU was suppose to pay him for and also owed for the shoot. He felt bad for us and was generous enough to give us the pictures he took.
