During the hectic days following Hurricane Sandy, my mother and I were at the Hess gas station near our home. The attendant must have taken her card number because she didn't use it after this transaction, and on her credit card statement there were unidentified purchases. Fortunately, the credit card company caught the fraud in time, so my mother's credit was not hurt. I hope this does not happen to anyone in the future.
