Sent a card stating I won a $100.00 gift card and to call to claim it. He wanted my credit card number for a supposedly free prize

Miscellaneous

I received a card in the mail stating I have been selected to receive $100.00 gift card from Wal-Mart, Target, etc. It gave a number to call to claim my supposedly "free gift". I called to find out what the catch is. He said I needed to give him my credit card number in order to claim my prize. I asked why and said if it's free I shouldnt have to pay anything. He said it's supposedly a one-time processing fee. I asked why can't I just send you cash and he said no, I only accept credit/debit cards. I hung up and looked up what it said about his company and sure enough, it's a fraudulent scam. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Nothing is free and if you win something, you shouldnt have to pay for it.
