People seem to like the Discovery Channel's show: "Moonshiners". I will even admit, the show is both entertaining and educational. However, you cannot always believe everything you see in TV. Did you really believe a single word that Obama, Romney or even either one of the Bushes said? (Me neither!) I knew there was something wrong with this show when they showed the first episode! Let me spell it out for you: First of all, there is no law in the US that says you can't make Moonshine, Beer or even any other kind of alcohol. But it is illegal to sell liquor without a license.in most states you also can't buy Moonshine and certain other types of alcoholic beverages in any store or bar. Even though you can legally make alcohol for yourself and your friends, it IS illegal for you to sell it to anyone for money, that is, if you don't have a license and if you don't learn and obey all the state and federal laws, such as paying taxes and testing the brew to make sure it's safe to drink, etc.

These rednecks on TV have everyone believing that they are really making real Moonshine, selling it illegally and hiding from the police and federal agents. This is absolutely not true! Think about it: If these people were really making illegal Moonshine, all the ATF or police would have to do is go to court and get a warrant. Then go to the shows Producer and not only place him under arrest, but give him a court order to give them everyone else's addresses and arrest them to! The show would have only lasted a single episode!

Even the government in Virginia said the show is fake and they wouldn't let people get away with something like illegally making and selling Moonshine. The show is simply a dramatization showing how people have illegally made and sold Moonshine in the past.
