A young girl, late teens / early twenties, came to my door selling books for a fundraiser claiming if she sells a certain amount of books, she would win the contest to go to Australia. She claimed it was for a youth group. I ordered some cookbooks from her and gave her a check for $69.00. That was October 22nd. Still have not received anything and of course, the check cleared so they got my money. I'm very irritated that I fell victim to such a scam. I feel sorry for the next person who comes to my door trying to sell anything!!!
