Miscellaneous

We needed to terminate our lease 3 months early due to personal reasons and we negotiated a lease break deal with Echelon Glen, which was to pay lease break fees (basically the rent) for the next 3 months if no renter can be found. Little did we know that this deal is worse than if we had just pay the lease in full because we would need to pay the concession reimbursement (concession is the rent discount we negotiated before signing the lease). Had we known about this caveat, we wouldn’t have agreed to the lease break deal.

We tried to call Echelon Glen for a resolution, without any progress. The receptionist, Vanessa, claimed that Debbi, who is the property accountant, was busy and she would give us a call back when she’s free, but we have yet to receive her call. When we called several times to find out why no one is helping us in the matter, Vanessa grew impatient and started raising her voice and talk over us, she also hung up the phone repeatedly.

We felt the rental management of Echelon Glen had misled us in our lease termination negotiation, and when we wanted more information on this issue, treated us in an inappropriate and unprofessional manner. And while nobody at Echelon Glen is helping us, the deadline for paying the fees is approaching. We wish these issues can be resolved better.
