I live in Canada and received a call from a person named MichaelBodel, he said he is a Project Manager scouting for potential representive in my area to work from home by giving them names, addressess and phone numbers of local businessess with 500 mile radius. I was told that they just lost their only rep in my area because he boke his hip. The business he presented seemed too real as the model would be to give them referrals and when these referrals signs up to lower the cost of their Visa or Mastercard rates to 1% I will get commissions based on the number of transactions pushed through the terminals used by the business. Seems real but he asked me to pay up "half" of the usual cost of registering my business as a referral agent so they don't get sued by anyone I refer to then. The person on the other line was very convinmcing and it sounded so real so I agreed to sign up, he told me to hold while he passed me up to the next agent who would process the transaction for $319.00 for my referral ID etc., they then told me to wait for a call from a Paralegal representative to finish the transaction. All these steps seems so legitimate. I got an email from US Docs Asssist with 2 documents attached to it. Michael Boden gve me a phone number to call if I have any questions. The number given was: 1800-3540274, unfortunately I did not call this number before signing up, this number does not exist. The phone numbers used to call me does not go anywhere including the number from the "paralegal" team. Number given was 321-392-2224. Not sure if this complain would go anywhere, but I'm hoping this does not happen to anyone else in the future.
