EA Lyke & Son Bait and Switch / Fraudulent Misrepresentation

Eric A. Lyke is the owner of this company and Shaun McClure is the general manager who will sell you on the redesign of your dream home. My wife and I approached Shaun with a maximum budget of $50,000.00. Before paying any money, he confirmed that the concept that we were creating would not exceed this amount. We paid a total of $7,562.50 to begin the design of our home. After this amount was paid, my wife and I were concerned because all we had to show for our money was a set of achetectual drawings which still needed to be engineered. Then, Shaun advised us that the construction costs would be $142,000! He conveniently denied remembering that our budget was $50k and said that we could take his design to another contractor to see if we could get it done for less. The architect Randy Harvell suggested that we could put our house on the market and sell it with this design. Bottom line, we pulled out of the agreement and lost our money!!!
