I noticed a check written from my account in the amount of $30. I do not write checks, so this was alarming. I called the bank and was given the number for Palm Loan Advances. I called and the first guy I spoke with had terrible, broken English. I explained to him that I did not authorize them to debit from my account and wanted my money back. He gave me a website to go to. I entered this website address while still on the phone and was met with a loan application. I said I did not want a loan, I wanted the money that had been taken returned. He said that the $30 was an application fee that would be taken off my interest when I was approved for the loan. I told him I did not want a loan, I wanted my money returned. He said the only way to get it back was to accept the loan. I asked to speak with his supervisor. He said his supervisor was on another call, but he would e-mail me $100 in vouchers. I told him I did not want the vouchers, I wanted my money. I again asked to speak to his supervisor. He said he was on another call. I said I would wait. He came back on the line every 30 seconds. Finally, he said since I didn't want the vacation vouchers and wouldn't accept the loan, he was ending the call and hung up. I called back 3 times and every time was told over and over I would get my money if I accepted the loan. Every time, I was hung up on after refusing the loan and vouchers. I called my bank who returned the $30 and froze my account. Now I have to close out my account. This is some sort of overseas scam as they all could barely speak English.
