I completed a deed in lieu program with Ocwen Loan Servicing on 9/14. Followed all their requirements, although they did not, they recorded the deed and I was to receive a check "cash for keys" within 7-10 days. I have not received the check. Everytime I call they lie to me and tell me that the check was mailed out. I was told that the check was mailed on 9/14, and then on 9/16 and then on 9/26 and recently 10/2. I have not received the check. I have called them continuously and they continuously LIE with each phone call they return. I have filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's Office, and if I can't get anywhere with that complaint, I will find an attorney to file a lawsuit and I will seek more than just the $2,888. I would like to do something about this, because I am sure they are doing this to others. It is as though they "steal" your property by recording the deed and other documents and they then own the property, and they have not met their obligation of paying the "cash for keys". I am sure they make a profit for every "deed that is recorded". THis is wrong and is deceitful to consumers who are under the assumption that Ocwen is operating in good faith. THey are not. They have numerous law suits filed against them. They are in violation of some laws. I don't know which ones, but there has to be laws against this type of business practice. I just pulled up a report from Moody's Investors Service. They are quite a pforitable company. They should be held liable for their action toward consumers.
