I purchased a puppy from The Golden Retriever Farm in Hammond Ontario. The breeders name is Ray Marengere. The pup (Sadie) was purchased on a breeding contract approved by the breeder Ray Marengere. The only stipulation in the contract was that Sadie could not be breed till she is 2 years old. The contract clearly states that Sadie would be registered with the Canadian Kennel Club. The breeder verbally confirmed to Danny and Heather Dodd that he had up to 6 months to provide Sadie's registration with the Canadian Kennel Club. We waited for almost 6 months for the registration and it did not arrive. We sent a registered letter on October 1 requesting the registration which he said would take 6 months. The letter sent was to confirm our address and that we had yet to receive the registration knowing he still had two weeks to provide us with the registration. On Octover 4 we received a voice message by cell phone that the breeder did not register Sadie because he gave us a breeding contract. He said he will not register Sadie because of the breeding contract agreement. This was never mentioned at the time of the purchase and also at the time of the purchase he did not want to give us a breeding contract and at that point we put our money in our pocket and were ready to leave when the breeder changed his mind and gave us the breeding contract. I would like to reiterate that at no time was it ever mentioned that we would not have Sadie's registration papers. We bought Sadie based on the breeding contract and that Sadie would be registered. And again I reiterate that it is clearly indicated in the purchase agreement that "The breeder will provide the registration to the owner" and he verbally said that he had up to 6 months to register Sadie. If required I can provide the receipt for the registered letter that was sent to the breeder and a copy of the purchase agreement. It can be faxed at your request. The breeder also indicated that he would provide a stud service when we were ready to breed Sadie. He had a male stud Big Red for a fee of $2000.00.
