I was looking for a rental on Craig's List and found a 2Br apartment with contact # (866) 344-3538. I called the number and the sales rep told me that I needed to pay $199 for accessing the database of properties in pre-foreclosure, which the banks are willing to rent on a lease-to-own basis to whoever can pay the remaining mortgage payment on a monthly basis. The sales rep charged my credit card for $199 and then the listing I was interested in disappeared from Craig's List. American Standard's customer service number DOES NOT ANSWER. I disputed the charge of $199 with my credit card company as "merchandise not received".
