Was called by a Brian Williams regarding a debt that his firm was trying to collect. I was told that I was being charged with passing fraudulent checks and committing fraud with a financial institution. I had no knowledge of ever doing these things but they insisted they had proof and were going to take me to court if I did not pay the debt of $1450.00. They said they could reduce it to $500.00 if I agreed to make a payment. I asked repeatedly to provide me with proof that i owed this money and he immediately hung up the phone. I called back and again requested I be sent the info they had against me and he said it was against company policy to give that information. I then said I would not pay any money if I did not receive there info. They denied me a mailing address and hung up on me twice when I requested information.
