While staying at the Sea Crest, I got on the elevator... It did not move. I tried to open the door... Nothing happened. I sounded the alarm, a woman said, "Are you alright in the elevator", no I replied, I am stuck and can't get out... She says someone is on the way... (mind you, I was in the elevator 15 min..) I alarmed again, are you ok in the elevator? Hell no I s
aid, get me out of here, someone is on the way mam. A minute later there were smoke fumes filling the elevator, my eyes were burning, I was coughing/choking, on the floor... I reached up and alarmed again... Again she says is there trouble in the elevator... I was terrified and screamed there was fire and smoke... Someone is on there way she says... Finally two very nice men arrived and got me out, stayed with me, called the ambulance and firetruck because they smelled burning. With every call I made, the clerk not once called the fire department nor sounded like she had any sense! 2 hours in emergency... Back in the room... NOT ONE CALL FROM THE OFFICE OF THE SEA CREST INN! I called the front desk to inquire about the situation... They said it was nothing, just a burned out wire... WHAT THE HECK!!! It could have been a child~!! No concern, nothing... She asks me what could they do, they were filling out an "incident" report... I was terrified... I just don't understand their lack of concern.
