Fake Lottery Check Scam: Told to Pay $1,995 Tax on $3,998 Check

My father received a letter in the mail saying he won $150,000 and I received a check in the mail for the amount of $3998 and I had to pay the tax amount of $1995. So I went to my bank and put the check on hold to see if this was a scam and maybe 5 days later our bank let us know this was a scam. So I called back samuel page and let them know that my bank said it was a scam and he said don't call this number again (Inappropriate Content Removed) you! And hung up! My goodness people are crazy!
