Hello all
I am writing this complaint to make others aware of a very dangerous scam taking place by a fraudulent company called Security Elite Group; I received a call from a company representative which I thought was a Human resources recruiter he advised me that I needed to renew my 8 and 16 hour certificate for a $80 fee which I felt was accurate being that it is the average cost for the two certificates (I found them through CareerBuilder, there is no name posted on there advertisement, they never tell you there company name it is a mystery). I advised that I did not have the money so I was informed that there are only a few spot left and without the money they will not even interview me. I borrowed the eighty dollars from a family friend thinking I would receive employment. I arrived there proceeded to their office on the 12th floor there was a wait of about 3 hours the office was crowded which seemed a bit strange. I was finally called in after about 3 hours and had a very brief discussion with a man who advised that I now needed more than $200 for Fire guard training (which I checked with several locations and the normal price is about $50-$75) he advised he is conducting the training therefore If I miss it the job he has set up for me will be lost. I advised him I do not have the money he stated I need to bring the money for the scheduled training in order for the employment process to go further. I thought the $80 was all that was needed this is a scam I now threw away $80 and had no groceries or money for a week due to the fact I had to pay back the $80 money is hard to come across and people like this need to be shut down they are taking advantage of immigrants as well as people who in this economic time are desperate for work. When you hear the name security elite group located downtown on broad street nyc run as fast as you can don’t give them a dime!!!
