I applied for a job as an administrative assistant on SIMPLYHIRED.com for the company fancyhands.com. I was contacted by a woman named Constance by email. This is what the email said:

This is Mrs. Constance Terrell with the Human resource department of Fancy Hands. Just reviewed your resume online and feel you will be the best candidate to fill this position as the company's administrative assistant and if interested, please read the following information below;

Responsibilities:

* Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
* Processes customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.
* Enters customer and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information into company database.
* Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
* Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing information.
* Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

Qualification:

1. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
3. Strong verbal, presentation, communication and analytical skills
4. A passion for providing a high level of customer service

Requirements:

You need a PC (as you will work full time from home), and a printer.
You would also need to setup a yahoo instant messenger ID (this is very important and this would be the major means of communication) You
need to have adequate knowledge of your calculator, Excel Spreed
sheet, MS word.

This sounded fishy to me so I emailed the company (fancyhands.com) and asked them if this email was a legitimate email from them. Was this really a job offer? The grammatical errors, lack of company email address, and yahoo messenger interview were red flags for me. This is what fancyhands.com said in their reply to my email:

Hi,

This is Ted Roden, Founder of Fancy Hands.

I wanted to reach out because the "interview" that you've scheduled is not with us. We don't interview people via yahoo messenger, etc. All communication with fancy hands would happen via the fancy hands website and email from fhands.com and fancyhands.com

Anything else is not related to us.

I looked up yahoo interview scams, I guess it's a new trend. DO NOT conduct an interview through yahoo messenger! They are SCAMS!
