Not what they appear to be

Parent here. At Kids R Kids, the motto is, "hug first, then teach" which means, "Oh well, kids are kids." Instead of disciplining the children when they have done something wrong, they redirect / distract them. The children do not learn consequences for their actions, but instead are just guided to do something else when they are misbehaving. On paper, it sounds like a wonderful place for children to learn and grow, because they are encouraged to play nicely together and creatively together, but it doesn't work when there are 20 children in a classroom with no discipline.

Teachers are sometimes left alone with multiple kids over the legal ratio defined by DSS. The irony is the school is obsessed with "counting heads" but always seem to have too many children alone with one teacher in a room. There is no possible way any person no matter how skilled they are can control that many children at once!

Poor communication, rules that never seem to be followed, and an unprofessional environment makes kids r kids a no go for parents that value their child's well-being. Unless you like teaching your kids that being unruly is good behavior. Backwards thinking. Violence goes unchecked here.
