Direct Buy worked for us

I see all these negative posts, I suspect those that read this are going to think I am a DB employee. I am not. My wife and I joined when we bought a new house, and moved from an apt., so we had to basically furnish the whole house. It was expensive to join, but I wouldn't say they pressured us, and we certainly felt free to leave at any time during the sales pitch. We ended up saving thousands of dollars. Seriously. We have often said since that there is no way we would have been able to buy the nice furniture and appliances we did without DB. Don't get me wrong, it takes some work. The way you buy things is not like walking in to a furniture store, seeing it, and saying "I want that". It takes someone who is willing to put some work into it, and with half a brain. But it worked for us. Now if I just needed to buy a sofa, or a refrigerator, there is no way it is worth it. The other good thing is you can buy things for friends and relatives too, so they can rea the benefits. As far as delivery, or receiving damaged goods... Again, it worked for us. It is work, and when there is something found defective (which was rare), it can be inconvenient... But the bottom line is their prices are definitely cheaper. One example is we saw this beautiful pub table and 4 swivel chairs. We searched to see comparable prices, and we were actually amazed to find it on Walmart's website (it's a really solid set, nice cherry oak... Maybe not something we exected to find at Walmart). Anyway, the price at DB was about $1,500 less than the Walmart price, for the total set. We have many other examles like that. What we would do is go to a furniture store (like Ashely's), make note of what we liked, write it down, and then find it on DB... And the savings were real! Significant savings.
