I was on Facebook and there was an ad caught my eye for a free ecig kit, just pay 4.95 for shipping and handling. I did not see terms or conditions to read. I already have about 6 ecigs and thought I'd get this one for my neighbor to try it.
This morning I got a confirmation call to verify my address and last 4 digits of credit card. I verified then another telemarketer called for the same info. I said to just cancel the whole thing and she gave me another phone number to call. I did and explained I didn't want a membership and to cancel. She said she would do that. Then I got an email saying my membership was canceled but I would still be able to purchase products from them. They gave me a cancellation code and I saved it.
I checked my bank account and the 4.95 is not applied yet, so I may have nipped it in the bud just in time, but my bank said to put a block on the card and they will issue me a new card just to feel secure. As I've been reading about credit card scams. Regal is one such, although Regal ecig does not seem to be related to Topratedecig, when I went to the website where I ordered the so called free sample, it had a link to Topratedecig page, with a list of other brand products they sell, such as Direct ecig, Volcano, etc. Appears to be many brand names for the ecig. On this particular website. They know Regal has many complaints, so may have removed that brand from their site. I wanted to warn people that if you don't see the terms and conditions for free samples, or it says "trial" free sample, you could be swindled into paying as much as $119 for a product you can get at a legitimate outfit for $20 or less. Now I have to change my account, as they have my credit card number.
