This transaction involved the purchase of a vehicle advertised on AutoTrader.com, AT Car ID# AT-13305874. The vehicle is a 2006 BMW M5, VIN WBSNB93546B582668. My husband and I wired the agreed upon selling price, $22,500.00, to what we now know is a bogus escrow account in North Carolina per an invoice #2307874501 from phony "eBay Motors."

Not only did Mr. Cains defraud us of $22,500.00, he attempted to increase his take by $2,500.00 by trying to get us to pay "shipping insurance" to another scammer located in Pennsylvania.

Per advice from the REAL eBay, we have filed a complaint with IC3, our local district attorney, and our local police department.

One final note, Mr. Cains said that the vehicle would be delivered to us via DAS. Apparently his brother works at DAS and is allowed to transport cars all over the U.S. Free of charge.
