Miscellaneous

On 7 March I responded to an online advert from Purify Naturally and ordered a free sample of their product which I received 3 days later (10 or 11 March). I gave my credit card details to pay the £4.95 for postage. I had hardly started using the product when I received another tub of pills for which I was charged £99.95 taken from my credit card on 19 March. I rang immediately and cancelled any further transactions. 9 days of use is not enough to assess the effectiveness of a weight-loss programme - the free sample was a month's supply. I have emailed them twice, offering to return the second tub and get a refund but have had no response. My CC company says that I probably initially signed up to a regular payment, and to find the 'small print' in the advert. I haven't been able to find any small print, nor anything to say I was agreeing to regular payments unless I cancelled within a few days, and I have not been able to contact anyone at the company by phone since I first rang to cancel.
The second lot of pills were unsolicited, and the debit from my CC was without my permission. Also the pills have not been any more effective than much cheaper ones bought from my local health food shop. Has anyone else been stung by this company?
