Scam

This company called my cell phone sounding reputable and offering 2 free cruise tickets in exchange for answering 10 survey questions. They represent themselves as a public interest polling group. The questions do not ask for a credit card or social security number, just your age group and level of education. The message then directs you to a website, www.surveycruise.com.
I went to the website, put in my email address (so they now have that too), and received a confirmation number. Supposedly a travel representative will call me in 3 days. I did an online search and discovered this is a scam—that they use this to send you lots of spam or to try to give you the hard sell on an upgraded package, with nothing free. So I dialed the number from which their call was placed and got a porn message.
I know, shame on me for hoping there's such a thing as a free lunch. But I have to ask, isn't there anyone policing this kind of thing? This is the second time this year that someone has tried to scam me. I feel as if these people are given free rein to do whatever they want at our expense. This country really blows. Really, it's okay for them to call me from a porn number?
