Sometimes It's Not About The Money

I called to try to submit a claim for a Canaopy bought within the replacement period. After explaining that the canopy had collapsed on itself and broke into several pieces with the cause being "Unknown", whether it was wind or due to being defective, I was told the canopy was not covered because it was not "normal wear & tear." At which point I explained to them that my policy explained that what was covered was "product breakdown AND/OR normal wear & tear." I was passed to a supervisor where I argued my case when she told me it was not covered due to being damaged by the "elements." Where I then explained to her that it does not state in my policy anything about the "elements" voiding anything and reiterated that I wasn't there when it fell and broke but again told her I was open to that possibility and argued again that my policy states "product breakdown AND/OR normal wear & tear'I was then handed to a Manager Rob who explained to me that they could not settle my claim due to a 3rd Party being the cause of the damage of my canopy and "that was that." First off, the definition of 3rd Party is "An individual or organization separate from the two principals involved." I am not an idiot and feel like I have been scammed and stolen from. I loved the product and would continue to use it but feel like I am being taken advantage of now. Unfortunately, I can't let it go and am going to expend all of the resources at my disposal to ensure as many people as possible know that the Kmart replacement plan is a scam and they shouldn't throw away their hard earned money. Whether $1 or $1 Million is not the point. All I wanted was my product replaced like they told me they would when I signed up for it. Thank You For Your AttentionAndrew JonesUnsatisfied Consume
