This firm sent me a bogus email list. I am a start-up company, and watching every penny. These idiots sent me a list of pure JUNK!

I am starting up a new magazine publishing adventure. I have a degree in marketing, with an emphasis in writing, so there is very little I have to 'farm out.'

I thought I would use email as part of my marketing plan, so I went online to look at purchasing a list. Email-List.com made all kinds of promises about deliverability, etc., so I opted to buy a list from them.

I got the list and busily started sending out my media kit to potential advertisers. Every single email came back as undeliverable. I contacted Email-List.com, who sent me a reply stating that Hotmail generally is considered junk mail, and they suggested I do an opt-out in my materials. So, I put in an opt-out, and re-sent the entire batch through my gmail account. The same thing happened... None of them went through.

So, I contacted Email-List.com again, and got the very same auto-generated response. I re-sent my query several times, each time receiving that same automatic message.

Finally, I threatened them with reporting them to every consumer advocate I could find, and they sent me a snotty reply. I gave them a number of chances to either credit my card back or send me a check, only to receive snide remarks. So, I am now in a major campaign to make others aware that this firm is a TOTAL waste of money! Don't do it!!!
